How do you acknowledge referrals? Wait until you run into the referring party somewhere? With a quick e-mail? With a text message?
It’s time for a change.
For a relatively small price (less than $500 in St. Louis), you can have a logo and note cards designed and the options for inexpensive printing are almost limitless. You (or your staff) can then write a personal note acknowledging the referral and expressing your gratitude.
The greatest response to such a handwritten thank you note came from an attorney with whom I worked many years prior at a very large law firm. He said, in part,
Through 34 years of practice and then another 13 of “non-practice,” I never have received a “thank you” note for a referral. Thank you for breaking the ice – you are most considerate.
It only takes a minute.
