With the advent of the personal computer and the internet, many companies are foregoing the usual route of professional graphic designers. Why would you use a designer and pay extra for something you can do yourself? Well, the answer is this: if you want positive results, hire the professional. Anyone can sit at their computer and “design” a postcard, flyer or brochure for their business. The question you should ask yourself is, “Are you getting the results you want from this piece?” Most of the time the answer would be, “No.”

A professional graphic designer knows what fonts are most appropriate for a specific message. Placement of text is critical as well as the content, not just photos or images but verbiage. It takes more than a few pieces of clipart with your address and phone to convey the marketing message you desire. The word professional is just that, someone who knows their business. A professional graphic designer grasps your business in a way that is appealing to your target audience. Would you try to perform a wheel alignment on your vehicle? No, you would leave that to the “professionals”.

It may cost your business a few extra dollars to hire a professional graphic designer, but in the end it will be well worth it. Your target audience will get your message which, in turn, will get you more interest in your business which is your main goal.
